Commuter Connections (Free Coffee and Prizes)!

Having a case of the Mondays? Well, Buffalo State will be offering free coffee to students in The Plaza! There also will be the opportunity to win some homecoming themed prizes!

Chalk the Plaza!

Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to take some chalk and draw on The Plaza! Get creative and by showing your Bengal spirit and how you plan to show how "Bengals Bounce Back!"

The Annual Teacher Tailgate 

The annual Teacher Tailgate, an open house sponsored by the Professional Development Schools (PDS) Consortium, will be held Monday, September 19, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union Social Hall.

Teacher Tailgate is an opportunity for teacher candidates and anyone interested in teacher education to collaborate with peers and colleagues to build relationships, enjoy tailgate snacks, and collect information. Tables will be set up for departments, programs, clubs, and organizations to display visuals and hand out materials about the many campus, local, national, and international opportunities available at Buffalo State.

Benji's 151st Birthday Party!

It's Benji's Birthday! Come to The Plaza to celebrate our mascot's 151st Birthday. Cupcakes and light refreshments will be provided as supplies last.

GOBike Buffalo

GOBike Buffalo will be on campus Tuesday, September 13, 20, and 27 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union lobby. GObike promotes active mobility options, trails, greenways, and complete streets in Western New York. It connects and empowers communities through advocacy, education, planning, and engagement.

Trivia Night in the E.H. Butler Library!

Come to a fun filled Trivia Night in the West Lobby of the E.H. Butler Library! Play alone, or in teams up to four. Bring a device (phone, tablet, etc.) to submit your answers. The theme for this trivia night will be banned books!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM! Join us in The Plaza for a Bengal themed ice cream treat. While supplies lasts!

Rockstar Energy College and University Gaming Tour

Rockstar Energy will bring a unique gaming experience to campus during Homecoming! Rockstar will show up with a branded gaming truck and provide students with exclusive game play (i.e. Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds, Fallout 76, The Elder Scrolls and Halo Infinite) and LTO can product sampling. 

Students are invited to step up to the Rockstar Energy gaming truck, where they take turns playing one of the legendary games on Xbox consoles, as well as receive a free Rockstar Energy LTO can and Doritos bag from the adjacent sampling tent.

Autumn Pumpkin Drop

The tradition is back! The Geography and Planning Department invites you to observe the Autumn Pumpkin Drop as we drop a pumpkin from the roof of Buckham Hall on Thursday, September 22, at 1:20 p.m. Swing by to celebrate the first day of autumn with its promise of blue skies, crisp air, and colored leaves. The drop zone will be in Lot R12, located on the southeast side of Buckham Hall. Look for the yellow tape cordoning off the drop zone. The event will be brief and conclude with plenty of time to allow students to get to classes. We hope to see you there!

Alumni Concert

One-hour performance by four alumni vocalists and instrumentalists, each performing for 10-15 minutes; wine and cheese reception to follow the performance in the lobby.

Open Skate 

Open skating hours will be available at the Buffalo State Ice Arena!

Open Skating: $5
Free to Buffalo State students with a valid ID
Skate rental: $3

Creating Characters: Character development from script to screen – featuring Tom Fontana and Mark Ryder

The event will be open to all and free of charge. Tom Fontana is an alum of BuffState, an Emmy Award winner, and the creator of the first drama for HBO.  He’s still relevant today working as showrunner for Showtime’s City On a Hill, and a producing and show running a new show for AMC starring Clive Owens.  He will be inducted into the Buffalo Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame while in town.

He’s bringing with him, Mark Ryder, television actor who starred in a show Tom created called The Borgia, and who currently is in City On a Hill.

Homecoming Pep Rally and Party in the Plaza!

Join us in the The Plaza and Perry Quad for food, music, and fun! This event will include carnival games, bounce houses, and more to kickoff the start of the weekend! Food provided for this event is for Buffalo State students only. This event is funded by the mandatory student activity fee.

Homecoming Fireworks Show!

Buffalo State will be celebrating homecoming this year with its first ever fireworks show! This event is free for all Buffalo State students. Following the pep rally, students are asked to go to Coyer Field where they can watch the fireworks display in the bleachers.

Scholar Donor Breakfast

This event celebrates the accomplishments of our students and the donors who helped make a difference by funding campus scholarships. Invite only.

Location: Campbell Student Union Social Hall

Bengal and Bagel Family Brunch

Students and their families are invited to attend a brunch with light refreshments. Registration is required to attend and we ask parties will be limited to four. 

Event at capacity. Registration officially closed.

Free Planetarium Shows

The Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium's state-of-the-art software and projection systems present opportunities for visualizations of the night sky and far beyond. Families will be exposed to topics in the sciences, dance, theater, art, music, technology, communication, history, and more in a 360-degree, visually immersive experience!

Four separate viewings of 30 minutes will be made available for students and their families.

Men's Soccer vs. Oneonta

Come out to Coyer Field to cheer on our Men's Soccer Team as they take on Oneonta!

Football vs. Morrisville State College

"Hut, hut, hike!"

The Football Team is getting suited up to take on Morrisville State College. Put on your finest Buffalo State gear and cheer on our Bengals! Buffalo State students, faculty, and staff with valid school ID are free for all Buffalo State home athletic events. Tickets for non-students are $5 and are available only at the entrance beginning one hour prior to the event.

The Chartwells Field Goal Kick Challenge!

Students who attend the football game can have a chance to randomly be selected to participate in the Field Goal Kick Challenge sponsored by Chartwells! A student will have the opportunity to kick a field goal and if they make it will win $100 dining dollars.

Class of 1972 50th Reunion

It's time for the 50th reunion of the Class of 1972! The event will include a cocktail reception, seated dinner, and a small program for alumni.
