Week of Welcome at Buffalo State University is a series of programs hosted by student organizations and the campus community to welcome our students during the first week of the semester! Fall 2026 Week of Welcome Schedule
Convocation | 11:00am - 2:00pm, Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall
First-Year Convocation is a Buffalo State tradition that gives our newest students an opportunity to be officially introduced and welcomed into the campus academic community. From that moment on, they embrace Buffalo State as their alma mater.
Silent Disco | 6:00pm - 10:00pm, Campbell Student Union Social Hall
Come join the Orientation team for a night of dancing and fun with a silent disco! Three different DJ's with three different vibes, with music for everyone!
Choose Your Own Adventure!
Explore Buffalo, Elmwood Village, or connect with your academic program! Take this time to immerse yourself into the Buffalo State culture and explore your new home!
Walk Your Schedule with an Orientation Leader! | 11:00am - 1:00pm, Campbell Student Union Information Desk
Prepare for your first day of classes by walking your class schedule with one of our orientation leaders! This is a great way to connect with other students and know where your classes are for a smooth first day!
Donuts with the Dean's Team | 9:00am - 11:00am, Student Union Lobby
Stop by the Student Union on your way to classes for a donut and some coffee and meet the staff under the Dean of Students' area!
155ft of Nachos | 11:30am - 1:00pm, Plaza
All students are welcomed to grab free nachos during week of welcome! There will be 155ft of nachos to celebrate 155 years of Buffalo State!
Karaoke Night | 6:00pm - 8:00pm, Student Union Lobby
Looking to sing along to one of your favorite song? Or maybe share some spoken word? Come by the Student Union for our karaoke night and claim the spotlight!
Part-Time Internship and Job Fair | 12:00pm - 1:30pm, Plaza
Looking for a part-time job or internship? Join the Career and Professional Education (CAPE) Office to explore various opportunities. Free ice cream will be available to all students!
Welcome Back Bingo | 5:30pm - 7:00pm, Campbell Student Union Social Hall
Want a chance to win free prizes? Join Student Leadership and Engagement (SLE), your United Students Government (USG), and Milligan's Food Pantry for a night of bingo!
