January-May: Incoming students should begin receiving general acceptance letters from Buffalo State University. Students that meet certain eligibility requirements will also receive a letter with more detailed information acknowledging that they have been selected to participate in the Roar 2 Success program. (Disclaimer: this depends on how early they have applied, and their identified enrollment term)
May-June: Deposited students will receive an invitation to register for Orientation. They will also be reminded to set up a registration meeting with their Academic Advisor. Toward the end of June, Roar 2 Success students will receive a reminder postcard in the mail explaining the next steps for program transition.
June-July: Students should attend the orientation session that they registered for. Roar 2 Success students will also receive a virtual message explaining how to access and what to expect during the Summer Immersion experience. (Countdown 2 College: 7/10/23-8/18/23, Summer Bridge: 8/22/23-8/25/23).
July-August: Students enrolled in Roar 2 Success will be invited to begin the virtual pre-semester college preparation program “Countdown 2 College”. During Countdown 2 College students will have the opportunity to meet their Success Network, engage with other first year students, build relationships, and learn valuable information that will allow them to transition successfully in their first year. One week prior to classes, students will be invited on campus for the final segment of the summer immersion "summer bridge week".
September-May: Students will receive ongoing support via UNC 100, UNC 101, 1:1 success coaching, peer mentoring, and first year engagement events.
