After you have accepted your offer of admission to Buffalo State College and your tuition deposit has been received, your next step to becoming a Bengal is attending orientation. Student Leadership and Engagement is excited to welcome first year students to campus for an in-person orientation session this spring.

How do I register for Orientation?:

A formal invitation to register for orientation will be sent to the email address you used when you applied for admission to Buffalo State College after your first year deposit is received. To register for an orientation session, you will need to log into your Buffalo State College applicant portal. Through the portal you will be able to register for a session. As your scheduled orientation approaches you will begin to receive a series of email reminders.

What are the dates for First Year Orientation?:

First Year orientation will be held on the following dates:

June  29th & 30th (Honors)

July 13th & 14th (EOP)

July 20th & 21st

July 27th & 28th 

What is the time frame for First Year Orientation?:

Check in will tentatively begin at 8:00am on Day 1 and will end on Day 2 tentatively around 3:30pm.

What is the tentative schedule for First Year Orientation?:

The schedule for Summer Orientation is in its final stages of being developed. Once finalized the schedules will be posted here!

What if I need to cancel my scheduled date?:

Orientation is mandatory and all new incoming students are have a fee which is billed to their first semester account. If you need to cancel and reschedule your session you can do that through the applicant portal.

Costs:

Please note that attending an orientation session is mandatory for all incoming Buffalo State Students. The orientation fee is a fixed price for all students and will appear on your student account as a charge. Each student’s account will be billed for the cost of orientation regardless if they attend or not. The First Year Student Orientation cost for summer orientation is: $225. 

Starting January 2020, the associated charge for Orientation will be automatically applied to your student bill. If you attended Orientation prior to then, all past due payments must still be made. **Reminder: The $125 tuition deposit, applied to your tuition bill, is separate from the cost of your orientation.
