Welcome Transfer Students!

After you have accepted your offer of admission to Buffalo State University and your tuition deposit has been received, your next step to becoming a Bengal is attending orientation. Student Leadership and Engagement is excited to welcome transfer students to campus for an in-person orientation session this spring.

How do I register for Orientation?:  

A formal invitation to register for orientation will be sent to the email address you used when you applied for admission to Buffalo State University after your first year deposit is received. To register for an orientation session, you will need to log into your Buffalo State University applicant portal. Through the portal you will be able to register for a session. As your scheduled orientation approaches you will begin to receive a series of email reminders. 

What are the dates for Transfer Student Orientation?: 

The Transfer Student Orientation for Summer 2023 are:

June 27th, 2023 

July 11th, 2023 

July 18th, 2023

What is the time frame for Transfer Student Orientation?: 

Check in will tentatively begin at 8:00am and the program will end tentatively around 4:00pm.

What is the tentative schedule for Transfer Orientation?: 

The schedule for summer orientation is being finalized, once finished it will posted here!

What if I need to cancel my scheduled date?: 

Orientation is mandatory and all new incoming students are have a fee which is billed to their first semester account. If you need to cancel and reschedule your session you can do that through the applicant portal.

Orientation Costs

Please note that orientation is mandatory for all incoming Buffalo State Students. The orientation fee is a fixed price for all students and will appear on your first semester student bill as a charge. This means you will not need to pay up front for Orientation, however you will see the charge on your first semester bill.  Each student’s account will be billed for the cost of orientation regardless if they attend or not. The Transfer Student Orientation cost is: $125. No more than 2-guests are allowed per student at an additional fee.

**Reminder: The $125 tuition deposit, applied to your tuition bill, is separate from the cost of your orientation.

**If you are a returning student and attended Orientation prior to January 2020, all past due payments must still be made. Please contact the Student Leadership and Engagement office at sle@buffalostate.edu if you have any questions.
