Welcome Bengal Parents!

Here at Buffalo State, we recognize that it takes a village to support a college student. When we welcome new students at Buffalo State, we are also extending a warm welcome to the countless parents and guardians who have helped to get our students to this point. As your student begins their transition, there are integral ways that you can continue to support them.

• Starting in late May, periodically check in to see if your student has received a formal invitation to register for an in-person orientation session. This invitation will be sent to the email address they used to apply for admission to Buffalo State University. Be sure they also follow the instructions provided in the invitation and register for the appropriate session. Attending an orientation session is mandatory. Students are billed on their student account for this required program.

• Parents and members of the student's support network are also encouraged to attend. Students are limited to no more than 2 guests. Guests must attend the same session as the newly enrolled student. Please note that lodging accommodations are not included in the registration costs.

Orientation Sign up for Parents and Support Network Members!

As parents and members of a student's support network, we also recognize that much of this may be new to you as well. We invite you to attend one of our  orientation sessions to learn more about Buffalo State College and what is expected of our new students.

The registration cost for summer 2023 orientation will be $100 per guest. If you wish to attend orientation with your incoming student, please complete the bottom of the registration form that your student will fill out in their Student Portal.

Again, thank you for all you have done to get your student to this point. Family supports become even more important once the college journey has begun, so we encourage to check in with your student throughout the year and stay connected with what’s happening at Buffalo State University!
