Welcome to ROAR 2 Success!
We are excited to welcome you to Buffalo State College. As a first-year student, you will automatically be enrolled in ROAR 2 Success if you are not a part of another support network such as Honors, EOP, Say Yes or have an International student status. Students enrolled in Roar 2 Success will be invited to participate in our summer college preparation program Countdown 2 College where Completion Coaches and Peer Mentors will work with you to assist you with your college transition; and ensure you are aware of all of the resources available to you on campus so that your are set up for success!
Beginning in early August, you will receive emails and texts about the Countdown 2 College program. Each week a new module tip will be released, and your support team will issue a weekly challenge to showcase your understanding of the weekly tip. The more challenges you complete, the more chances you have to win great prizes throughout the summer. All of this content is housed on a free website called Flipgrid. You can access this exclusive platform using your BSC email and password (this is a google email). Once you are on the website you will need to enter this join code: 4tsa0jp0. This is also a great way to meet other incoming first year students. Weekly tips and challenges can be completed in less than one hour.
New topics will be shared over several weeks prior to the start of school.

Each week you will be given a challenge to complete through the Countdown 2 College program. By completing the challenge you will be be entered into a raffle to receive prizes such as Buffalo State gear, Bengal Bucks for dining, and more!
To assist you with buidling your community and finding your tribe, we will host weekly live events and invite you to participate in our first year group chats. This is an opportunity for you to meet members of your support network and other new students!
Countdown 2 College helps to introduce you to just some of the resources on campus. Keep in contact with your support network once the semester begins and you will learn more about these resources and other as you learn to navigate campus life! Again, we cannot wait to meet you in-person and have a fantastic first-year with you!
