It is move-in day for new students who will be living in the residence halls at Buffalo State! Please contact Residence Life for questions and information related to move-in day.
New residents will meet with Residence Life to learn about important expectations, guidelines, and rules when living on-campus at Buffalo State.
Looking for a fun and creative activity? Come out to paint and sip in the Campbell Student Union Lobby. Paint supplies will be provided and all you need to bring is your creativity. Chartwells will provide non-alcohol mocktails to sip on during the event. Paint supplies and mocktails while supplies lasts.
Join Student Leadership and Engagement for a night of music, skating, and fun with their Glow in the Dark roller rink. Students will have the opportunity to meet their peers and enjoy a free skating event. Upon arrival, students will receive a wristband indicating their time slot for skating.
We invite the Buffalo State community to join us for the Post Convocation Party. Following New Student Convocation, come to the Plaza and enjoy a street sign making station, a 360 photo booth, balloon hats and light refreshments! We also will have
Join Student Leadership and Engagement with the Residence Hall Association for the Silent Disco. Upon arrival, students will receive a pair of headphones. They will have the option to choose between several DJ’s and find which vibe is right for them. This event is funded by the mandatory student activity fee.
Take a trip to the Elmwood Village Arts Fest! This free festival is held only a few minutes away from campus! The Elmwood Village Arts Festival aims to foster growth and awareness of the artistic treasures of the Western New York area.
Student Leadership and Engagement along with Roar 2 Success will be in the Campbell Student Union Lobby to assist with any questions you have for the first day of classes!

To celebrate the 152nd year since Buffalo State was founded, we will be celebrating with 152ft of free nachos. Students only and while supplies last. Food provided by Chartwells.

Breakfast is a perfect opportunity to increase levels of antioxidants and other healthy nutrients. We are inviting all commuter students to take part in Commuter Breakfast. Provided by Chartwells, commuter breakfast will help you have more energy and improve your mood, focus, and physical performance.
Employers from on-campus departments and local organizations will be in attendance, looking to hire Buffalo State students to fill their part-time job openings, as well as Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024 paid internships! Sponsored by Career and Professional Education (CAPE).
Buffalo State students will be able to enjoy a free zipline on campus! This event will take place before and during the first football game over at Coyer Field.
We’re having a celebration! Funtastic Friday is way to say thank you for being good members of the community. Stop by for refreshments Friday, September 1, 2023, from noon to 2:00 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union lobby. Please bring your Buffalo State ID. Sponsored by Student Conduct and Community Standards.
Student organizations will table outside the Campbell Student Union to share how to get involved on campus. Additional activities will include a rock wall, extreme air bungi jump, and free food. Thie activity is sponsored by the mandatory student activity fee and United Students Government (USG).
